Hwaseong Picnic Recap

On Saturday, October 18, 2025, we met at Suwon Hwaseong for a fall picnic with our GGN community.

The weather began rainy and cold, but it did not take long for the mood to shift. Once everyone settled in, the day became cozy, cheerful, and full of easy conversation.

Good company over perfect weather

With the fortress as our backdrop, we spread out picnic mats, opened food to share, and spent the afternoon enjoying the simple rhythm of being together.

There were board games, lots of laughter, and the kind of unhurried conversations that help strangers become friends.

From picnic mats to a warm cafe

After the outdoor portion of the event, we moved to a cafe to warm up and continue talking over drinks.

That second half of the day gave everyone a little more room to connect, reflect, and end the gathering at an easy pace.

A small gathering that felt full

What stayed with us most was not the rain, but the atmosphere:

• people showing up with openness,
• food and games making connection effortless,
• and a beautiful local landmark framing the whole day.
