GGN Chuseok Event Highlights

Our Chuseok Songpyeon-Making Event on September 27, 2025 was one of those mornings that felt warm from beginning to end.

As neighbors from different countries and generations gathered at GGN, the room quickly filled with conversation, laughter, and the festive spirit of Korea's harvest holiday.

Making songpyeon together

The centerpiece of the event was shaping and filling songpyeon by hand.

For some participants, it was a first introduction to one of Chuseok's most familiar traditions. For others, it was a chance to revisit a holiday memory and share it with new friends.

Working side by side made conversation easy and turned the table into a place of welcome.

Traditional games, shared joy

After making rice cakes together, we moved into Korean folk games:

  • Yutnori,
  • Ddakji,
  • and Gonggi.

The games brought out playfulness, teamwork, and plenty of laughter. It was especially meaningful to see people connect so naturally across nationalities and age groups.

A richer holiday because we shared it

Thanks to everyone who joined us, the event felt truly festive and full of heart.

More than a cultural activity, it became a chance to experience Chuseok as a shared celebration of community, hospitality, and joy.

We are deeply grateful to everyone who came and helped make the gathering so rich and memorable. We look forward to welcoming everyone again for more meaningful events in the months ahead.
